Deep Fork Farms has two Paso Fino Stallions and several Paso Fino mares for
breeding. Pedigrees are available.
The Paso Fino is a naturally-gaited light
horse. A newborn will often gait the day they are born. When
translated "Paso Fino" means "fine step". Their gait is
renowned as the
smoothest a rider can experience. Paso Finos are prized for
their trail and endurance riding and their ability through rocky
terrain. With decent care, they are productive and can be ridden long
after other breeds retire, with many of them about thirty years
of age, still producing. Paso Finos have a docile temperament.
They are loyal and fond of their master. This is a lively horse
that has a natural drive and willingness, which many of us call "brio".
In general, the Paso Fino has a fantastic disposition.
Paso Finos have Latin origins dating back many centuries to
Spain. They can easily carry a large rider comfortably for
an extended period of time. An 800 lb Paso can easily carry a
rider who is over 6’ tall and weighing 250 lbs over the worst
trails, up and down hills, without a problem. The trick is in
how they move and how they are built.
Here's an excellent article you can read about the Paso Fino

Spider, one of our Paso Fino stallions, has the most
beautiful mane I've ever seen. He's affectionate
and graceful. |

Tiki, one of our Paso Fino mares, has a foal
named Sophie
peeking out from behind. Sophie surprised us by
being red instead of painted. |

Spider has decided to graze a bit instead of
taking pictures. His build is strong and
beautiful.
